Asheville: Hiking Linville Falls

Fall foliage and multiple waterfalls make this a worthy stop

Our Blue Ridge Parkway excursion started with Linville Falls (near Milepost 316). This was about an hour outside of where we were staying in Asheville. It was an easy stroll and mild hike from the Visitors Center to this waterfall view. Lots of beautiful horizons, even when you had to dodge a few other visitors. This was in October 2020, and admittedly it was weird to hike with a mask on—but people were polite and gave room to pass on some of the narrower trails and paths.

Some say Linville Falls is the most photographed waterfall on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

This would be a lovely place for a picnic. We will plan for more time here next visit! Learn more on North Carolina's official site.
